Placename

Gaelic name: Sìtheanan, Na

Name in Original Source: Sitheanan, Na

English meaning: The knolls

Placename feature: Hill

Notes: This name is always referred to as having a meaning such as the fairy hills but it may simply mean the hillocks or knolls - the name is applied to a few rounded hillocks above, and to the north-east of, Loch nan Glac (q.v.) There is a tradition, though, that the place with this name was a fairy knoll and that one John Gordon spent a year inside a fairy knoll
