Gaelic name: Cnoc an Teine Aigheir (?)
Name in Original Source: Cnoc an teine aighear
English meaning: Hill of the happy/festive fire (?)

Notes: Recorded in an early place name survey by the Applecross Historical Society, c.1999, this name is in the township of Baile a' Mhuilinn. It's exact location is unclear, however there was a tradition of lighting bonfires on or near Creag na h-Iolaire, to mark occasions such as the marriage of the daughters of the Middleton family or of members of the British royal family, especially in Victorian times. One newspaper report specifically mentions the Middletons' housekeeper Eleanor Hesp as being given the honour of lighting a celebratory bonfire.
