Placename

Gaelic name: Uaimh Dhuilich

Name in Original Source: Uaimh Dhuilich

English meaning: Difficult cave

Placename feature: Cave

Notes: Mentioned by Roderick Gillanders to the Scottish Place Name Survey, May 1971 (PN1971.016A). This cave sits on the eastern shore of cfEilean Mòr, the largest of the Crowlin Islands. Lying south of cfCamas na h-Annait and north of cfSgeir Bheithe, it is possibly so named as it may be hard to reach or access except at certain tides or in certain tidal conditions.
