Placename

Gaelic name: Uaimh Ghoraidh

Name in Original Source: Uaimh Ghoraidh

English meaning: Goraidh's cave

Placename feature: Cave

Notes: This is a small rocky overhang rather than a cave. It is on the path from Toghsgaig (q.v.) to An Àirigh Dhriseach (q.v.), at the top of the slope before the descent into the latter township. The feature takes its name from the fact that the man delivering the mail and/or messages to the village would leave his young son there and retrieve him on the return journey. Name from Phemie Fraser, 11th February 2012. (Co-ordinates are approximate)
