Notes: A notice printed in the John O' Groat Journal of 11th January 1866: At Garanaguala, Applecross; on the 26th ult.; by the Rev. Kenneth M'Donald, Free Church Minister, John Cameron, Esq., Lochalsh, to Elizabeth, eldest daughter of the late John Macrae, farmer, Cuaig, Applecross. (No cards.)<br /><br /><br /><br />It is not clear where this place was, but there was a tradition of marriages being held on a brdige over cfAllt Tausabhaig, so it may relate to this location.<br /><br /><br /><br />Kenneth MacDonald was known as Am Ministear Mòr (the big minister), and was the first incumbent of the Free Church in Applecross. He was a native of the parish.<br /><br /><br /><br />The marriage on 26th December 1865 was of John Cameron, the forefather of the Camerons of Applecross, a well-known fishing family.
