Placename

Gaelic name: Geata na Creig Daraich

Name in Original Source: Geat' a' Chreag Dharach

English meaning: Gate of the Oak Rock

Placename feature: Man-made

Notes: This gate was fixed in place across the road at the first big rock on the Camas Terrach (q.v.) side of A' Chreag Dharach (q.v.). It was to stop cows wandering into the village. There was another of these gates up near the site of the present Free Presbyterian Church, but that name has been lost.
