Notes: Rev. Dr. Kenneth MacDonald, 29th November 2012, An Àird, Dhubh, mentioned this name which is applied to a rock formation with a gash or hollow cut into it. Seaweed, etc., gathers in there. It sits on the top of the shore in the township of An Àird Dhubh, just behind a barn before the road curves down towards the houses at cfAm Briost.
