Placename

Gaelic name: Dubh-Ghlaic (1)

Name in Original Source: Dubh Ghlaic (1)

English meaning: Black hollow

Placename feature: Glen

Notes: (1) Recorded by AHS survey. It is the small glen situated on the east side of Tòrr Garbh and runs from Langwell to the north end of Camusterrach. Still quite flat on its floor, signs of cultivation and habitation are still visible. MacEachen's Gaelic Dictionary gives Dubh-Ghlaic as the nominative form, rather than Dubh-Ghlac which appears in Dwelly's Gaelic dictionary
