Placename
Gaelic name: Camas Bàn (2)
Name in Original Source: Camas Bàn (2)
English meaning: White bay
Placename feature: Bay
Notes: (2) This name appears in an undated list compiled by Kenneth Macrae F.S.A. Scot., (1903-1982) which is held by the Applecross Historical Society. The list runs in splintered sequences so it is hard to place this name accurately, but this name is listed between what Macrae gives as Ardmore (An Àird Mhòr), the southernmost point on the west of the Applecross peninsula, and Camuscuilc (Camas Cuilc), the reedy bay. These two places do follow in a south-north order, so gives us an approximate location - the co-ordinates used are for the first bay north of the point of An Àird Mhòr (q.v.)
