Placename
Gaelic name: Bealach Phuill Domhain
Name in Original Source: Bealach Phuill Domhain
English meaning: Pass of the deep pool
Placename feature: Pass
Notes: This pass was the overland shortcut between Toghsgaig which faced south, and the townships of An Àird Bhàn and Coille Ghillie which were on the western shore. It was a route used by MacKenzie fighting men to cut ambush a raiding party of MacDonalds in what may have been the last battle fought between clans on Applecross soil, at Lochan a' Chatha
