Notes: This may well be the same place as Blàr a' Ghobhainn also recorded by Alison MacLeod. The note for this entry in an Applecross Historical Society document is: Where peats dug near the Ard. Dh rd - In other words, an area near the road to the township of An Àird Dhubh. The co-ordinates given here are an approximation in the vicinity of where the name is believed to relate to.<br /><br /><br /><br />The Rev. Dr. Kenneth MacDonald, An Àird Dhubh, 29th November 2012, suggested that the peats were cut for a nearby smithy, hence the name associated with a blacksmith
