Placename

Gaelic name: Camas an Lochain

Name in Original Source: Camas a' Lochain

English meaning: Bay of the little loch

Placename feature: Bay

Notes: This bay lies immediately to the south of Druim a' Lochain. This place used to be called 'The Hospital' because a doctor began to build a hospital there, probably between the wars, but plans were abandoned. There had been an Applecross Nursing Association prior to the introduction of the NHS in 1947.
