Placename

Gaelic name: Allt an t-Srathain

Name in Original Source: Allt an t-Srathain (1)

English meaning: Stream of the little valley

Placename feature: Stream

Notes: 1: Flows west-north-west from Loch na h-Àirighe Bige and enters the sea west-north-west of Cuaig township. In the 1880 edition of this map sheet, this stream is named as Allt na Tràighe. It would seem that Allt an t-Srathain is the more likely name to be correct as the stream does flow through a narrow hollow which broadens into a wider small strath.
