Placename

Gaelic name: Allt Càrn na Paite

Name in Original Source: Allt Carn na Paite

English meaning: Stream of the cairn of the hump

Placename feature: Stream

Notes: This small stream flows west into Allt na Creige Guirme (q.v.) which in turn flows into the north-east of Loch Bràigh an Achaidh (q.v.) Pait can have definitions as varied as stepping-stones or hare (mammal), but in this instance is more likely to mean a hump or lump, given that there is a fair-sized hill called Càrn na Paite (q.v.) overlooking the loch and the stream
